Electricity generation through biogas
For electricity generation, biogas is primarily used as a fuel. Useable waste materials include:
- Sludge, organic waste, leftover food
- Fertilisers such as slurry and manure
- Non-useable plants and energy plants specifically cultivated for biogas electricity generation
Combined heat and power units that can either be used for heating purposes or for electricity generation are operated using these waste materials.
If electricity is generated using biogas the resulting electricity is fed into the circuit directly from the biogas plant.
